This homemade date syrup is naturally sweet, mineral-rich, and enhanced with sprouted hemp seed powder for an extra boost of protein, fiber, and omega fatty acids. Perfect for drizzling, blending, or baking!
Ingredients:
• 2 cups pitted dates (Medjool dates for best flavor)
• 2 ½ cups water
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, enhances flavor and freshness)
• 2 tablespoons sprouted hemp seed powder
Instructions:
1️⃣ Simmer the dates: In a saucepan, combine dates and water. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 10-15 minutes until the dates are soft. Let cool slightly.
2️⃣ Blend: Transfer to a blender and then blend until completely smooth.
3️⃣ Strain (optional): For a silkier syrup, strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
4️⃣ Add hemp powder & thicken: Return the strained liquid to the saucepan, whisk in 2 tbsp of hemp seed powder, and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup thickens.
5️⃣ Store & enjoy: Let cool, then transfer to a glass jar. Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
